“WELCOME PROCEDURE FOR TEACHING STAFF OF ACADEMIC UNIT

In the context of enhancing and improving the quality of services provided to the teaching staff of the University of Western Macedonia, as well as the principles of transparency and accountability, the current “Welcome Procedure” has been adopted for the members of the teaching staff of the University of Western Macedonia. This specific procedure concerns all new members, both permanent and temporary.

The welcome procedure aims to establish a framework of actions with which the academic unit must inform the new members, in order to respond to their duties with greater efficiency.

 

The purpose of this procedure is:

  1. To facilitate the teacher’s contact with the department’s and administration’s bodies and services.
  2. To provide information on issues related to university life.
  3. To provide information about the rights and obligations of the teacher within their academic career.
  4. To provide assistance for the smooth and unobstructed performance of their duties.

 

Important actions:

  1. The Department Chair informs the members and the Department Secretariat about the hiring of the new DEP member or temporary teaching staff.
  2. The Department Chair informs the new member/temporary teaching staff about the Department, its strategy, operational regulations, and behavioral issues towards students.
  3. The Directors of Divisions inform the new member/temporary teaching staff about the directions, courses, and provide information/instructions for issues related to thesis/dissertation projects.
  4. The Secretariat informs the new member about the classrooms, laboratories, and the infrastructure of the Department.
  5. The Secretariat informs the new member/temporary teaching staff about creating an institutional account, the operation of e-class, and other electronic services provided by the Institution.
  6. The Department Secretariat informs the new member/temporary teaching staff about the services provided by the library, with the sending of auxiliary material.”
